This is Downloadable Video (NO virus) of a poor Guy that had a Collapsed Wing (http://www.paratoys.com/images/movies/NZ_PPG_News.wmv), this Guy got Slamed on his Back from about 10mt off the ground  !

As a PPG Virgin, can Anyone tell me what caused this 1430?

PPGs have much lower wing loading that PPCs, so they can collapse easily when they encounter turbulence. These guys were flying in bad weather.
Unpowered paragliders deliberately fly in updrafts by hills and such, so they almost always carry reserve chutes that they can throw out by hand in such an event.

Hey Madog, pretty neat video! It's a miracle the guy walked away from it.

As Gary said, PGs and PPGs are so lightly loaded, it's amazing what good pilots can do with them using their brakes and risers. Visit http://www.acromania.nl/ and you'll see what I mean. With that capability comes additional risk: they're prone to stall in turbulence or through a too-heavy application of brakes. I'm guessing the pilot in the video accidentally stalled his glider trying to manuver around the trees and building. That's a potentially fatal Ouch!

Unlike skydiving rigs and PPC chutes, which are designed to recover reliably from a full stall (in fact, intentionally pulling full brake and stalling your chute is a standard canopy exercise for beginning jumpers), stalls in high-performance PGs and PPGs are far more unpredictable due to the tendency of the canopy to surge and dive. Check out this spectacular video: http://krisz.3gteam.hu/video/BadStall.mpeg

The chute collapse was partly cause by a pilot. He was preforming extreme turns and wing overs. He never made it over the top fell into his chute. You'll notice he deployed an emergency reserve. They carry these chutes for just such a incident.
