Dave,

I wanted to let everyone know that the Phoenix Voyager will be at Phoenix Air Affair this year, and weather permitting, I'll be flying. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Special thanks to Phoenix Powered Parachutes, the Talbotts, Walt and Judy. And very special thanks to the extended family and wives of the owner of Phoenix Powered Parachutes, Ron Hensley. The girls kept us fed with some fantastic "grindage" My family and I had a great time.

Other than a psuedo-tongue lashing at the hands of a famous cross country flyer, who felt compelled to put on his CFI cap and critique the flying habits and radio skills of some his "fellow Phoenix guests" a good time was had by all.

The competitions kept us busy and were a lot of fun. The flight to breakfast Sunday was a little bumpy. I personally was surprised at the number of registered machines in attendance. Kudos to all and good luck with your future business ventures in the powered parachute venue!!

Yes, it was a great time! Other than the winds aloft on Sunday morning, flying conditions were about as good as it gets!

I apologize if I ruffled any feathers by putting on the "CFI hat" for a few minutes. I just wanted to re-enforce that we only have one chance to make a good first impression. Violating the 500 foot rule is a good way to possibly give people the wrong impression of how we feel about flying safely. And every time you key the mic, every pilot for at least 10 miles can hear you. If we want to be accepted by the aviation community as "real" pilots, it will do us a lot of good if we sound professional.

That being said, I know I had a great time, and look forward to next year's Air Affair.
