We are expecting a good crowd, weather permitting. We have pilots coming from Shreveport to Simmsport, from Lake Charles to Hammond and Monroe.
Just a bit of information; there is no camping at the airport unless you want to bring a tent. We have a porta-potty and running water. No electricity. The Paragon Casino/Marksville is 25 minutes away and they have an excellent RV park and hotel or cabins. Alexandria is 45 minutes away and has plenty of rooms. Bunkie has a hotel (Bailey) and a motel and is 5 minutes away. Bring lawn chairs as we have a hangar to relax in. We were going to grill hamburgers and hot dogs but have made a decision to only have drinks available as there is a truck stop/restaurant 3 minutes from the airport. You can bring your own snacks if you want. Some are coming on Friday afternoon and if you do so we can fly that evening.
Directions to airport:
From I-49 take exit 53 (Bunkie) & go east (Hwy. 115) 1.4 miles to airport on left.
Here are a few things the airport manager has asked that we abide by. He is very receptive to ultra lights and not many airports are, so I ask you to please abide by these few rules:
1. NO alcohol.
2. Please police your area and use trash receptacles.
3. Use left hand 500’ ultra light pattern.
4. Maintain 500’ AGL over town and surrounding homes.
5. Airport freq. is 122.900. Do not chat on this channel.
6. Chat channel is 123.450

To those coming Friday P.M. and staying in hotels around Bunkie, you can drop off your aircraft at the airport and leave it overnight. The airport is fenced and secure and two or three of us will be staying at the airport overnight.

Hey guys,
Everything is on for this Saturday at Bunkie. The WX looks like it will be fine but HOT! We will fly Friday P.M. also. You can leave your PPC at the airport as it will be locked up with a few guys staying overnight there. There is NO running water there if you are planning to tent camp. We have plenty of cold water and soft drinks for a donation. Food is on you. A cafe is within 2 minutes from the airport. We may do a cross country Saturday A.M. to Marksville and back for those interested. Bring lawn chairs. We will have a hangar to hang out in. (No pun intended) Hope to see everyone there.
