I heard about this from my in laws who heard it on their local radio station and after several minutes of searching for the info I was able to copy the following from the radio stations website:
Ray Nichols of Brainerd was injured in a plane crash on Saturday in Crow Wing County. Around 12:50pm, a paraplane piloted by Nichols, crash landed in a field on the east side of County Road 45, one mile south of Brainerd. He was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd for treatment. His condition is unknown. His passenger, Rita Nichols, was not hurt. A paraplane is an engine-powered parachute.
