I was wondering what all is going on in Carthage. I just saw there was an event coming up soon. What type of event is it, how big is it, all that. I have never been to any of these things and wondering what I would see, if I went. I am about two hours from there, seems kind of handy.

The Sho-Me Chute flyin is one of the most fun that I've ever visited.

Ernie Baugh and his family are awesome! This is definitely one of the "must attend" flyins of the year. It's not too big and not too small.

There are poker runs each morning - all going to different places. The area is incredibly beautiful. There are a lot of places to fly and lots of sights to see.

The competition will probably be held on Saturday (weather permitting).

It's actually held just outside of Carthage, MO at Baugh Flight Park on August 5th thru 8th. Contact Ernie Baugh at 417-358-6233 or go to www.sportflightinc.com/chuteout.html for more info.

I'm planning on coming down for some fun flying on Saturday and maybe Sunday too. As long as the weather looks good for both days so I can tow on my open trailer, I'll be there!

Walt,

Do you have your BFI with the EAA (I'm an EAA member, and my machine is registered with them)?

Since I have always flown single seat units, I never messed with getting a BFI, although I've taken all the classes and passed the exams.

With SP around the corner, I need for someone to sign me off for the UL Pilot rating. I'm hoping you, or someone at the Carthage fly-in can take care of this for me.
